AceShowbiz - After six years tasting married life, Jack White of The White Stripes and model/singer Karen Elson announced that they are ending the holy union. But instead of engaging in a bitter war, the former couple threw a party for the occasion, sending out e-vite to friends and family on Friday, June 10.
"Karen Elson and Jack White kindly request the presence ...at a party to celebrate their 6th anniversary, and their upcoming divorce with a positive swing bang hum dinger," the invite reads. "The party will include dancing, photos, memories and drinks with alcohol in them. This is only for close personal friends and family so please no plus ones or dead beats. Please help us celebrate together this anniversary of the making and breaking of the sacred union of marriage with our best friends and animals."
White and Elson met while filming for White Stripes' video. They got married in Brazil's Amazon River in June 2005 and had two kids, a daughter Scarlett, 5, and son Henry, 3. "We remain dear and trusted friends and co-parents to our wonderful children," the message reads. "We feel so fortunate for the time we have shared and the time we will continue to spend both separately and together watching our children grow."
