AceShowbiz - After undergoing a production in a highly secretive set, "Captain America: The First Avenger" was shot in a public place on Sunday, August 22. A number of extras, dressing in 1940s clothes, gathered around Trafalgar Square in London, England where they filmed a scene set during VE Day or Victory in Europe Day.
Waving U.K.'s flags, they were seen sharing smiles and hugs as they reenacted the situation when the WWII Allies formally accepted the surrender of the armed forces of Nazi Germany in 1945. Lead actor %cChris Evans% was not seen involved during the weekend filming, but director Joe Johnston was spotted around the location.
"Captain America: The First Avenger" has begun filming in London since earlier this month. %cHayley Atwell%, %cSebastian Stan%, %cHugo Weaving% and %cStanley Tucci% are some of the cast members of the superhero action movie.
Based on another Marvel character, the film follows military service washout Steve Rogers who volunteers for a top secret research project that turns him into Captain America and tries to fit in his new image. "Captain America" is set to arrive in U.S. cinemas on July 22, 2011.
