Movie

The superhero film and the Zack Snyder's action fantasy unveil the first footage, while the last installment of 'Harry Potter' movie series brings new scenes.

AceShowbiz - The third day of 2010 San Diego Comic Con International which became the most anticipated day for movie was started with Warner Bros. panel. From 11:45 A.M. until 1:15 P.M., the studio invaded Hall H to present "Green Lantern", "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" and "Sucker Punch" consecutively.

"Green Lantern" kicked off the panel with Geoff Boucher of the LA Times introducing Geoff Johns as the current writer of "Green Lantern" comics. A teaser from the film was then presented, opened with a voice of Mark Strong's Sinestro who told the audience to pay attention to a green light in front of them.

It then showed quick shots of Ryan Reynolds' Hal Jordan running towards the crash of the spaceship, scientists performing an autopsy on the dead Abin Sur, Peter Sarsgaard turning into Hector Hammond, and Jordan learning how to use his ring to create a huge energy fist in a fight. However, there was no scene of Reynolds in Green Lantern costume.

After the teaser ended, Reynolds, Sarsgaard, Strong, Blake Lively, director Martin Campbell as well as producers Greg Berlanti and Donald DeLine showed up on the stage. During the Q&A session, fan threw a question about whether or not there will be a "Justice League" movie and Johns responded that it will depend on the success of "Green Lantern".

"Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" took over the venue at around 12.30 P.M. with Tom Felton as the only cast who made an appearance. Though it made fans quite disappointed as they expected to see more faces from the film, they were treated with new footage from the movie, which will be split into two parts - "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I" and "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II".

The footage was divided into two parts, with the first part containing scenes which are quite similar to the sequences seen in a previously released full trailer. Additional scenes included the ones which saw Voldemort leaning over a sleeping Dumbledore and Harry thinking he sees Dumbledore in the mirror. The entire snippet was narrated by Voldemort telling Harry Potter to give himself up to save his friends at Hogwarts.

After the title card came up, the video continued with more new scenes. There were sequences which featured the negative turn of events during Fleur and Bill's wedding and Hermione and Harry being taken into Malfoy Manor by Bellatrix Lestrange. Additionally, the footage gave the first look at Bill Nighy as Rufus Scrimgeour.

After a brief panel for "Deathly Hallows", Zack Snyder came out to present his upcoming release "Sucker Punch". He then introduced the female cast including Vanessa Hudgens, Emily Browning, Jamie Chung, Jena Malone and Carla Gugino before showing the footage, which wowed the actresses who had not seen it before.

The footage showed glimpses of futuristic robots, samurai warriors, big guns, an insane asylum and other post-apocalyptic worlds. The video also revealed that the film will contain some musical numbers. Despite the musical sequences, Browning claimed the girls are genuinely tough in the movie.

To wrap the panel for "Sucker Punch", the footage from the film was played again. Those who did not have a chance to attend the presentation will be able to take a look at the first scenes from the film soon as producer Deborah Snyder has announced that a trailer will be online on Tuesday, July 27.
