'Kick-Ass' to Premiere First Footage at 2009 Comic Con

In addition to the footage news, a brand new photo from the Matthew Vaughn-directed movie about superhero wannabes comes out exposing Hit Girl.

AceShowbiz - "Kick-Ass" will premiere its footage at 2009 Comic Con. Slash Film has learned the superhero movie will have its panel for the festival on Thursday, July 23 toward the end of the day. Matthew Vaughn, director as well as writer of the movie project, will attend the festival to present the film's footage. Some of the film's cast members will also be in attendance, but the names will be announced later.

Along with the news of the movie's inclusion to the Comic Con line-up, a new photo from "Kick-Ass" has been released. It features Chloe Moretz who portrays Mindy Macready, an 11-year-old vigilante which is also known as Hit Girl.

"Kick-Ass" is an adaptation of Mark Millar's comic of the same title. The story centers on Dave, a normal boy who decides to become a real-life superhero, who is played by Aaron Johnson. Also starring in the movie are Nicolas Cage, Mark Strong and Christopher Mintz-Plasse. The exact release date of the flick has not been announced yet, but it will take place in 2009.

Held annually in San Diego, this year Comic Con will be kicked off on Wednesday, July 22 with a preview night. Full panels will follow on the next days, July 23 until Sunday, July 26.
