2009 Writers Guild Awards Television Nominees Unveiled

'Lost' is nominated for dramatic series while 'Saturday Night Live' for comedy/variety show.

AceShowbiz - List of television nominees for the 2009 Writers Guild Awards has been released. As can be seen on the list, several series, like "Lost", "Friday Night Lights", "Dexter", "Mad Men", and "The Wire", are listed to compete for the dramatic TV series title.

Meanwhile, the NBC's hit show, "Saturday Night Live", is nominated for comedy/variety series award along with its rivals, "Late Night with Conan O'Brien", "Late Show with David Letterman", "Real Time with Bill Maher", "The Colbert Report", and "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart".

On the nominees line up, Writers Guild also puts "30 Rock", "Entourage", "The Office", "The Simpsons" and "Weeds" to compete on the category of comedy series. Furthermore, on the nomination for new series, there are "Breaking Bad", "Fringe", "In Treatment", "Life on Mars", and "True Blood".

61st Writers Guild Awards show is scheduled to be held simulatneously on Saturday, February 7, 2009, at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles and the Hudson Theatre at the Millennium Broadway Hotel in New York City. This awards honors outstanding achievements in television, radio, news and promotional writing.
