AceShowbiz - An update in the murder case of Jennifer Hudson's mother and brother has just been given by police sources claiming that the suspect, William Balfour, has been put in custody. Chicago police have yet confirmed that matter though.

The Chicago Sun-Times gives a "developing story" on the murder case, claiming on its site Chicago Police detectives have been interviewing William who was declared by the police as the one and only suspect in the case hours after Hudson's mother Darnell Hudson Donerson, 57, and older brother Jason Hudson, 29, were found dead inside the family's residence, 7019 South Yale Avenue, at 2:44 P.M. Friday, October 24. He was arrested later that day after police tracked his whereabouts around the city.

Meanwhile, the singer-actress' 7-year-old nephew, Julian King, has yet been found. The Chicago Sun-Times, furthermore, reports after being informed by several sources that a white SUV, which is believed by the police to have been driven by William from the Hudson's family home in the Englewood neighborhood, is still missing.

As stated on the Illinois Department of Corrections records, William was sentenced to seven years in prison in 1999 for attempted murder, vehicular hijacking and possessing a stolen vehicle. He has been on parole since 2006 and is set to be discharged from that parole May next year.

More about William, he reportedly has a romantic relationship with Hudson's sister Julia. He even stated on his MySpace page that he is married to her. He also listed Darnell's house, where she and her son were found dead, as his residence within the last year.

In the wake of William's arrest, his mother Michele Davis Balfour defended him, saying "I'm not going to let them put my son down. My son had nothing to do with this ... and I'm very upset with the police because they are refusing to let me see my son." She also made a public plea to many reporters who were at the Area 1 police station, pleading for the return of Julian. "Please, I'm begging you to return [him]," she stated.

Explaining on his son's relationship with Julia, Michele claimed the pair has been married for two years. But she said, the husband-and-wife had problems "as recently as two weeks ago." William currently hasn't been charged with any crime.
