It's official, Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds are now husband and wife. The celebrity couple quietly tied the knot on Saturday, September 27 in an intimate ceremony outside Vancouver in the groom's native Canada.
A representative for the actress confirmed to US Weekly a wedding did exist and was attended by her mother, Melanie Sloan, and her brother, Adrian Johansson. The marriage is the first for both Scarlett and Ryan. No other details are being provided.
Scarlett, 23, and Ryan, 31, began dating February last year shortly after he ended his engagement to singer Alanis Morissette. They announced their engagement in May 2008. Details of the exact engagement day and ring were kept under wrap, but Scarlett had since been spotted sporting a three-carat diamond ring estimated to be worth about $30,000, which was widely believed to be the ring Ryan gave her to mark their engagement.
Neither Scarlett nor Ryan has issued official statement about their hush hush nuptials, but a representative for the actor has been telling E! "Yes, I can confirm they are married."
