Young and famous, Selena Gomez has ruled out the possibility of her starring in a film or TV series prequel to Emmy and Golden Globe award winning TV series "Sex and the City." Reasoning that she's too young to star in such film, she insists she isn't enthused by the prospect of acting in any possible prequel.

Earlier this week, HarperCollins announced that author and columnist Candace Bushnell, whose sex column was turned into a book, "Sex and the City," which became the basis of the popular TV series of the same name, signed a deal to write two young-adult novels focusing on the series' main character Carrie Bradshaw's high school years. The two novels are likely to be adopted for a TV series or a movie, it has been reported.

And being asked if she would like to star in possible future adaptation, Gomez told E! at the Teen Vogue Young Hollywood party held at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art on Thursday, September 18, "That's not really the audience I'm going for. I mean, my mom loves the show and it's a very popular show, but that's not the direction I'm looking to take at this time."

Refusing to star in "Sex and the City" prequel, Gomez however doesn't rule out starring in romantic movie. She has starred in direct-to-DVD movie, "Another Cinderella Story", portraying the main character Mary. "Another Cinderella Story" is a sequel to "A Cinderella Story" and was released on September 16 this year.

First premiered in 1998, "Sex and the City" TV series soon became a popular program among viewers. Due to its success, the series then was adapted into a comedy-romance big screen flick with the same title. A sequel to it, titled "Sex and the City 2" is in the works.
