"Desperate Housewives" star Nicollette Sheridan and her singer fiance Michael Bolton have called off their engagement. People magazine, which broke news of their split, was informed by the actress' representative Nicole Perna.
"Nicollette Sheridan and Michael Bolton have amicably ended their engagement," Nicole said in a statement. "They appreciate your respect for their privacy in this matter." No words on why the longtime celebrity couple decided to go separate ways.
Sheridan is a Golden Globe-nominated actress. She is best known for portraying the character of Edie Britt in hit TV series "Desperate Housewives." Bolton, elsewhere, is a Grammy-winning singer who has sold more than 53 million records. His hit songs among others are "Time, Love and Tenderness" and "When a Man Loves a Woman."
Sheridan and Bolton have been dating on and off since the year 1992. Each of them has been married once before. In March 2006 they officially announced their engagement. The singer even once was quoted as saying, "Nicollette and I are very serious about each other," adding that "I am very committed. It is a very special time in my life. I have a good feeling about the future."
