Though Anna Faris' comedy 'House Bunny' has shown a great run for the box office's top, Ben Stiller's comedy is still unbeatable as it stays uncontested atop the chart.

Ben Stiller's outrageous comedy, "Tropic Thunder", has shown its competitive side by keeping its #1 place at the box office for the second time around. Being the summer movie that dethroned "The Dark Knight" after it dominated the revenue chart for four weeks last weekend, the DreamWorks Pictures' flick collects $16.3 million to add to the total of $65.8 million.
Though its sales dropped 37|percent|, the hilarious film about a group of actors stuck in a real war-like situation when filming a Vietnam War movie is still left untouched by its two new competitors, "The House Bunny" and "Death Race". Commenting on the success, Media By Numbers' president Paul Dergarabedian says, "It's a really funny film. The word of mouth has been incredibly strong. It has maintained its momentum and headed into the weekend with really strong midweek box-office numbers."
In the meantime, placing second and third respectively are "House Bunny" and "Death Race". "Bunny", which is a Columbia Pictures comedy starring Anna Faris, Katharine McPhee and Rumer Willis among others, grosses $14.5 million, while the Paul W.S. Anderson's action movie "Death Race" featuring the action man Jason Statham rakes in $12.6 million.
On "Dark Knight" report, the Christopher Nolan-directed movie falls from the second slot to the fourth in its sixth weekend. Failing to break any other record for the first time after stealing the second place of the highest grossing film of all time from the original "Star Wars" last weekend, the superhero flick that puts Christian Bale and Heath Ledger as nemesis, Batman and Joker, manages to pull in only $10.5 million and thus has garnered $489.4 million since its July 18 debut.
Taking the last position of the top five is Warner Bros. Pictures' animation of the "Star Wars" saga, "Star Wars: The Clone Wars". Slipping two spots from its third place last week, the Dave Filoni-directed movie earns another $5.7 million. Additionally, other newcomers this week, Ice Cube's "The Longshots" and Rainn Wilson's "The Rocker" debut eighth and twelfth on the chart bringing in $4.1 million and $2.6 million respectively.
