Having yet to release an album since "Hotel Paper" in 2003, Michelle Branch is set to mark her come back with a different vibe from her previous pop-rock sound. For her new LP Michelle will go back to her earlier roots and give a country feel on the upcoming set.

Speaking to Billboard.com, Michelle reveals some details stating that the new record is almost done saying that she's already "in that last stage of tweaking stuff ... where you can really go crazy trying to fix all the little things." The singer also said that her new album will very much be a progression from her band, The Wreckers' music.

Revealing the reason she wants to make her new LP sounds like her band, Michelle said, "I think the Wreckers for me was just so much fun and I felt so at home with it that I really feel that's my place now." Moreover she also added, "It's more singer/songwriter than, I would say, country, but I think the term 'country' is all relative now. There's really no room for singer/songwriters anymore at radio, so I think this is a natural step. It really feels like the right place to be."

The "Everywhere" hit maker's new LP will be titled "Everything Comes and Goes" and although it hasn't had a release date yet, Michelle expected that the new record could be dropped before the end of the year via Warner Nashville. On the new record the singer will be collaborating with country singer Dwight Yoakam in a song titled "Long Goodbye".

Beside telling about her new album, to Billboard, Michelle also spent the time to talk about The Wreckers' current condition. The singer explained that she actually wanted to work an album first for her band, but her partner Jessica Harp chooses otherwise. "Jessica had never had a chance to do her solo record, so I understand where she's coming from, she's really just wanting to stand on her own two feet and prove herself on her own and not be that other chick in the Wreckers with Michelle."

On the last note Michelle also stated that although her band at the moment are still at hiatus, a new project could still happen. "It was sad, but we're both in a great place now, both making solo records. It was kind of left open, like maybe we'll come back to it, so we'll see," she said.
