The Good Charlotte frontman poked fun at the wedding rumors, which were first brought to the surface by Star magazine last week, posting a denial on the band's official site.

Are they or aren't they? There's no truth to the wedding rumors that hit celebrity couple Joel Madden and his baby's mother Nicole Richie. The Good Charlotte frontman put the false wedding reports to end, addressing the gossip on the band's blog.
Joel posted an entry that was begun with the statement, "We Did It! Nicole and I Finally Got Married!!" He then went on writing, "CHECK OUT MY BLOG FOR A PICTURE OF ME AND MY BEAUTIFUL BRIDE. ALL I CAN SAY IS I AM SO VERY HAPPY.......CONGRATULATIONS TO ME!!"
It was surprising though to find out it wasn't his picture with Nicole that was on the blog, but the picture of two gorillas getting married in suitable wedding suits.
After the jump, Joel continued writing, "HAHA. JUST KIDDING. So i feel really stupid even posting this, but i've been getting calls and texts from my family all week asking me why they weren't invited to my wedding. I guess the only answer i could give them was that i didnt know we were having one."
He went on saying, "So i just found out that star magazine wrote some story about a 2 MILLION dollar wedding we are supposed to be having, and thats where it came from. Sooooo if you were pissed at me for not inviting you or even telling you, dont blame me, theres nothing to worry about. Its just star magazine. How long do you think it will be before they write we called it off, or we broke up? i give them a week or two......"
Star magazine broke the news last week that Joel and Nicole were planning to walk down the aisle at her father Lionel Richie's Bel-Air estate in Malibu on June 29. The publication, furthermore, mentioned several details of the alleged nuptials, claiming the pair planned to have DJ Samantha Ronson and singer Alicia Keys to perform.
It was also claimed that Nicole would have nine bridesmaids and was planning a Pretty in Pink themed bridal shower. It's just a matter of time that Joel and Nicole will marry, for real, now that the rocker has set the record straight on the false wedding reports.
