AceShowbiz - Joel Madden has revealed the secret behind his 12-year marriage to Nicole Richie. When appearing on "The Drew Barrymore Show", the Good Charlotte rocker admitted that he and his wife have had "lots of therapy."
"We go to therapy. Lots of therapy," the 44-year-old told Drew Barrymore in the Wednesday, November 14 episode of the latter's daytime talk show. The host then replied, "I know each one of you together and individually - you do the work."
Joel later stated, "I don't think we pretend to be perfect either." He went on to acknowledge, "I think we're all human."
Joel then praised Nicole for being an incredible mother to their two children, 15-year-old daughter Harlow and 14-year-old son Sparrow. "We got lucky with our kids. They're easy," he gushed. "I always tell my kids, you make it so easy to be a dad. They're just good kids. They really are. They're great. And I think they're like their mom."
Joel continued to heap praise on the former star of "[t=The Simple Life". He said, "The more you know her, the more you love her. It takes time to get to know her. But she's just classy."
