The Hansons are expanding their clan. The younger member of pop trio Hanson, Zac Hanson, has become a father for the first time. He and his model wife Kathryn Tucker welcomed their first child, son John Ira Shepherd Hanson, Tuesday, May 27 in Tulsa, Okla.
The baby weighed in at 8 lbs, 4 oz. Per People, he will go by the name Shepherd.
"I am so overjoyed," Zac told People. "There is not an audience or concert that could ever stand up to the feeling of meeting your baby for the first time."
As well feeling happy about her newborn son, Kathryn added, "Shepherd is the most wonderful gift we could ever receive. We're already enjoying every second of this great adventure."
Zac and Kathryn were first introduced to each other in August 2000. They began dating in 2001 and he proposed to her in January 2005. They finally walked down the aisle on June 3, 2006, in a private ceremony held at Second Ponce de Leon Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia.
