In what came as an apparent result, Disney Channel's stars Jonas Brothers and Miley Cyrus both came up as the ultimate choices for the kids. The two teen-craze artists have been named the winners of Favorite Group and Favorite Female Singer respectively at the 21st Annual Nickelodeon's Kids' Choice Awards, held on Saturday, March 29.

With the win, Cyrus who is the star of TV hit series Hannah Montana, in fact won over the biggest music nominee, Stacy Ferguson aka Fergie and two other big contenders, Beyonce Knowles and Alicia Keys. The Jonas Brothers, meanwhile beat out Linkin Park, Fall Out Boy and Boys Like Girls for the Group title.

Also winning in the show hosted by Jack Black, is R 'n' B singer Chris Brown who took the Favorite Male Singer award after belting out Bow Wow, Soulja Boy and frequent winner Justin Timberlake. With Fergie being absent from the winners list, the Favorite Song category subsequently goes to Avril Lavigne's 2007 single "Girlfriend".
