AceShowbiz - Another exciting reality show in music has been brought by NBC. A competition dubbed 'Clash of the Choirs' will present Kelly Rowland, Michael Bolton, Nick Lachey and country singer Blake Shelton competing against each other through shaping choirs.

The twist of the game is, each celebrity will have to travel back to their respective hometowns to gather 20 amateur singers to be made their team. Rehearsals will be held and once the date is due, the teams will go to New York to display their hard work during a four-nights competition.

Music genres are ranging from current pop hits to holiday classics. Viewers will then vote off one choir each night. The celebrities are not just going to sit around and watch their team, but they are also allowed to give comments, accompanied by other music experts.

The prize will be to help the winner's hometown in any way, be it building or renovating. "For the musicians, it's a chance to give back to the town that supported and nurtured them when they were starting out, and for the choir members, they become instant hometown heroes," NBC reality chief Craig Plestis said.

Rowland will return to Houston, Lachey to Cincinnati, Bolton to New Haven while Shelton to Oklahoma City.

The show that is conducted as part of holiday season will premiere December 17 at 8 p.m. ET and run through the 20th. As a competition, ABC will air their show 'The Duel' on the same day. 'Duel' is a game that combines quiz-show elements with betting and bluffing. This show is also scheduled at 8 p.m. but will run through the 21st and hold its finale on December 23.
