Already having a full plate on his agenda, Common took time Tuesday October 9th to announce the launch of The Common Ground Foundation Inc., which is a San Francisco based global initiative aimed to help develop and empower urban youth via education.

The foundation, which came to fruition after several years of planning, will also support AIDS/HIV prevention programs targeting youth in American and African communities.

"I always believed that if we started with the youth then we would be planting the seeds for our future to blossom," Common said in a statement about the foundation.

On duty to direct the foundation's national and global programs will be Jodie Blum, a 12-year-veteran of event production, specializing in nonprofit consulting and fund-raising for world leaders, celebrities and professional athletes, allhiphop.com reported.
