Undaunted by the critics' negative reviews in her latest starring vehicle of "Employee of the Month", Jessica Simpson is landing her next acting stint in a comedic feature entitled "Major Movie Star."

Representative of the beauty told PEOPLE that the pop sensation would topline the project as the titular character, a down-on-her-luck actress who enlists in the Marines.

"She's excited to get back on a movie set and get into a new character," the person revealed.

Apart from "Star", Simpson turns out to also get attached to appear in a spy comedy titled "The Witness" which has already been slated to be filmed in June this year. However, it is reported that she will start shooting "Star" in Louisiana that month instead.
