Lee Ann Womack has secured a temporary protective order to keep away a man she says was stalking her.

AceShowbiz - Country singer Lee Ann Womack can now sing along the way without feeling afraid. The star has successfully secured a temporary protective order to keep away a man she claims was stalking her.

In the petition she filed last week in Chatham County Superior Court, Womack pointed a 36-year-old Georgia resident Mark Borer to have been stalking her for the last year, sending her "various disturbing and harassing" letters and that he appeared at her parents' home in Jacksonville, Texas, in November 2005, while she was visiting.

Superior Court Judge Penny Haas Freesemann, in consequence, granted Womack a 30-day keep-away order that prevents Borer from coming within 1,000 feet (300 meters) of the singer, her family, or her production company, LAW Productions.

The order, furthermore, also prevents Borer from contacting Womack or her family by phone, e-mail or any other means. If he violates any terms of the order, he can be arrested. A Dec. 1st hearing was scheduled to determine whether a permanent order should be granted.
