Pierce Brosnan has demanded $42 million payment to, once again, play James Bond role

Actor Pierce Brosnan wont play the superspy James Bond for a fifth time because the upcoming 21st Bond blockbuster Casino Royale producers have refused to accept his $42 million demand to play the role. That's why they are now planning to find another actor to play the 007 agent role.
Commenting on the producers refusal, Brosnan admits to be "surprised, disappointed and saddened" of the decision because he feels such amount is worth for the many blood and sweat he put into the role. Yet, Peter Bart, industry magazine Variety's editor-in-chief says Brosnan "priced himself out of the market" with a reported "compensation package" that "would total north of $40 million".
