Tessanne Chin came from a musical family. Born September 23, 1985 in Kingston, Jamaica, she was introduced to music at the very early age. Her mother played trumpet and her father played drums in a band called The Carnations, while her older sister Tami Chynn was a singer. The family has a recording studio at their home in Jamaica.
