In the competitive world of penguin surfing, a young upstart named Cody Maverick, voiced by Shia LaBeouf, dreams of escaping his small-town life in Antarctica to become a legend like his idol, the mysterious Big Z. His chance arrives when he is scouted for the prestigious Big Z Memorial Surf Off on Pen Gu Island. This animated family adventure, directed by Ash Brannon and Chris Buck, follows Cody as he navigates the pressures of the competition, befriends a laid-back chicken named Joe, and encounters a spirited lifeguard named Lani, voiced by Zooey Deschanel.
