Stana Katic's acting career was begun with a starring role on big screen flick "Acid Freaks" back in 1999. Then in 2004, she invaded the silver screen with guest spots on features, like "Alias", "ER", "24", "Heroes", and "CSI: Miami". During that period of time, she also acted on several movies, including "Pit Fighter" and "Quantum of Solace", while also lent her voice to "Superman: Unbound".
Katic's breakthrough role was that of Detective Kate Beckett on crime drama TV series "Castle". The character won her People's Choice Award for Favorite Dramatic TV Actress, two TV Guide Awards, also Prism Award for Best Performance in a Drama Episode. She's been starring on the series since 2009.
Born on April 26, 1978 in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, Stana Katic holds dual citizenship; the United States and Canada. She is fluent in speaking English, Serbo-Croatian, French, Italian and Slovenian. An avid lover of science, travel, music, and art, she started a global initiative called The Alternative Travel Project in 2010 to encourage people to go car-free for just one day. She, moreover, also has her own production company called Sine Timore Productions which was established in 2008.
