Escape the Fate
Escape the Fate emerged from the Las Vegas music scene in 2004 as a potent force in post-hardcore, known for their dramatic blend of melodic hooks and aggressive riffs. Founded in Pahrump, Nevada, the original lineup included lead vocalist Ronnie Radke, guitarist Bryan "Monte" Money, bassist Max Green, drummer Robert Ortiz, and rhythm guitarist Omar Espinosa. Their early buzz led to a deal with Epitaph Records and the 2006 release of their debut album, "Dying Is Your Latest Fashion," which became a cult classic within the genre and established their signature sound.
The band's trajectory was dramatically altered by legal troubles surrounding Radke, who was sentenced to prison for his involvement in a 2006 killing and subsequently fired. In 2008, Craig Mabbitt, formerly of the band Blessthefall, stepped in as the new frontman. This revamped lineup quickly solidified their place with the album "This War Is Ours," which debuted at No. 35 on the Billboard 200 and became their commercial breakthrough. The record's title track, "This War Is Ours (The Guillotine II)," directly referenced their past while forcefully announcing their future.
Building on that momentum, their self-titled third album in 2010 marked their highest Billboard 200 chart position at No. 25. The subsequent years saw lineup shifts, with Ortiz remaining as the sole founding member, but the band continued to produce successful albums. 2013's "Ungrateful" spawned "One for the Money," their highest-charting single on the U.S. Mainstream Rock charts. After releases on Eleven Seven Music, including "Hate Me" (2015) and "I Am Human" (2018), the band signed with producer John Feldmann's Big Noise label.
Their seventh album, "Chemical Warfare," arrived in 2021, showcasing a seasoned band refining their aggressive yet accessible rock sound. Escape the Fate's eighth studio album, "Out of the Shadows," was released in 2023, demonstrating their enduring creative drive. The band, currently consisting of Robert Ortiz, Craig Mabbitt, and guitarists Matti Hoffman and Erik Jensen, maintains a consistent touring presence, continuing to connect with a dedicated fanbase that has followed their evolution through personal turmoil and musical reinvention for nearly two decades.
