Caleb Followill is an American musician best known as the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist for the rock band Kings of Leon, a group he formed alongside his brothers and cousin in Mount Juliet, Tennessee, in 1999. As the primary lyricist and frontman, his distinctive, gritty vocal style and introspective songwriting have been central to the band's identity, helping to propel them from regional obscurity to international stardom and multiple Grammy Awards.

Born on January 14, 1982, in Mount Juliet, Tennessee, Caleb was raised in a deeply religious family. His father, a Pentecostal preacher, and his mother frequently moved the family across the American South, a transient upbringing that would later inform the band's songwriting and aesthetic. Caleb and his brothers Nathan and Jared, along with their cousin Matthew, formed Kings of Leon after being inspired by a range of musical influences, including Southern rock, blues, and garage rock. The band's name derives from their grandfather, a Pentecostal preacher named Leon Followill. After building a local following, the group signed with RCA Records and released their debut album, Youth & Young Manhood, in 2003.

The band achieved significant commercial and critical success in the United Kingdom before breaking through in the United States. Their third album, Because of the Times, released in 2007, reached number one on the UK Albums Chart. The follow-up, Only by the Night, released in September 2008, marked a major turning point. The album produced the hit singles "Sex on Fire," "Use Somebody," and "Notion," all of which topped the Hot Modern Rock Tracks chart. Only by the Night became the band's first platinum-selling album in the United States and was certified nine times platinum in Australia. At the 2010 Grammy Awards, the band won four awards, including Record of the Year for "Use Somebody," a track written and sung by Caleb.

Following the massive success of Only by the Night, Kings of Leon released Come Around Sundown in 2010, Mechanical Bull in 2013, and Walls in 2016, the latter of which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200. The band continued to evolve their sound, releasing When You See Yourself in 2021 and their ninth studio album, Can We Please Have Fun, in 2024. Throughout his career, Caleb has been recognized for his powerful stage presence and songwriting contributions, which have earned the band a dedicated global fanbase and enduring critical respect.

Outside of his work with the band, Caleb has occasionally collaborated with other artists and has been the subject of media attention regarding his personal life and health. He has been married to model and actress Lily Aldridge since 2011, and the couple have children together.
