In this preview for the first episode of "The Chi," viewers are introduced to a group of young people living in a struggling neighborhood on the South Side of Chicago. The video opens with a shot of Emmett, a young boy who is playing basketball at a local park. Emmett is soon joined by his friends, Kevin and Brandon, and the three of them begin to talk about their lives. Kevin is struggling to find work, while Brandon is dealing with the recent death of his father. Emmett, too, is facing challenges. He is being bullied by a group of older boys, and he is also struggling to come to terms with his father's absence. Despite their challenges, the three friends are determined to make it through, and they find solace in their friendship.
