**Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle** is an upcoming American action adventure comedy film directed by Jake Kasdan, from a screenplay by Chris McKenna, Erik Sommers, Scott Rosenberg, and Jeff Pinkner. The film is based on the 1995 film Jumanji, which was itself based on the 1981 children's book of the same name by Chris Van Allsburg. The film stars Dwayne Johnson, Karen Gillan, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, and Nick Jonas. The film is scheduled to be released on December 20, 2017.
