The Rider is an upcoming American drama film directed by Chloé Zhao, from a screenplay by Zhao and Paul Weitz. The film stars Brady Jandreau, Timothée Chalamet, Lilly Gladstone, and Clifton Collins Jr. The film had its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival on September 1, 2017, and is scheduled to be released in the United States on April 13, 2018. The film follows Lakota cowboy Brady Blackburn as he recovers from a near-fatal rodeo accident that left him with a traumatic brain injury.
