Hacksaw Ridge is an upcoming American war drama directed by Mel Gibson and starring Andrew Garfield, Sam Worthington, Luke Bracey, Teresa Palmer, Hugo Weaving, Rachel Griffiths, and Vince Vaughn. The film is based on the true story of Desmond Doss (Garfield), a Seventh-day Adventist who served as a U.S. Army medic during the Battle of Okinawa in World War II. Doss refused to carry a weapon or kill anyone, but he saved 75 lives during the battle. The film's first TV spot, titled "Stay True," was released on YouTube on July 20, 2016.
