Demi Lovato Won't Return to 'Sonny with a Chance'
April 20, 2011 08:04:17Demi Lovato is leaving "Sonny with a Chance" for good. The actress was given a break when she entered rehab late last year and now she has announced that she will not return to the Disney show. "I don't think going back to Sonny would be healthy for my recovery," she explains the reason to People magazine. "Being in front of a camera would make me nervous."
The 18-year-old cutie shares that she will now focus on her singing career, "It made sense for me to go ahead and leave the show to focus on my music." She adds, "It's kind of sad for me that a chapter of my life has ended but there couldn't be a better time for me to move on."

March 05, 2011 11:03:12TV bosses have changed the name of Demi Lovato's comedy series "Sonny with a Chance", sparking rumors she has been permanently dropped from the cast. The singer/actress, who plays the title character, was admitted to rehab in 2010 to address undisclosed personal problems and she was written out of the program when it became clear she would not be able to return to filming in January this year.
Disney bosses insisted Lovato's departure was temporary and she would be able to rejoin the cast once she was well enough. But it has now emerged the show's name will be changed to "So Random" for its third season, fueling rumors Lovato's exit will be made permanent.

November 26, 2010 04:11:47Disney Channel's "Sonny with a Chance" cast made use of the Thanksgiving holiday to greet fans with a video and share a sneak peek to the upcoming episode. Called "A So Random! Holiday Special", the special episode features Joe Jonas who plays himself and appears as a Christmas present that comes in a box and with accessory.
Chad Dylan Cooper hosts the fully-produced, jolly-themed "So Random!" holiday special. Sketches include "A Jonas for Christmas," "The 12 Days of Sickmas with Sicky Vicky," "Holiday Cooking with Roadkill McGill" and "Christmas with the Real Princesses of New Jersey".

Confirmed: 'Sonny with a Chance' Gives Demi Lovato a Break
November 13, 2010 11:11:43Disney Channel has found a solution to keep "Sonny with a Chance" on air while its leading star Demi Lovato is away for treatment. The network will ask the writers to focus on "So Random!" which is a sitcom inside "Sonny". This way, the production can resume as scheduled.
"Sonny" has been renewed for a third season and is due to begin production in January. However, a recent personal matter in Lovato's life has put the show in jeopardy for she is now away from the limelight to seek treatment in rehab. Producers put Lovato's concern on top of the list and have found the best way to serve both the actress and the show a justice.

November 11, 2010 10:11:50Since Demi Lovato entered rehab last week, there was little issue about her TV show "Sonny with a Chance", until now. Last month, Disney has told the cast and crew that production is set to resume in mid-January. But now the production is "in jeopardy" since the lead star is still going through a personal problem.
The teen sitcom went on a hiatus in July so that Lovato can spend time with Jonas Brothers promoting "Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam". Lovato had been going down the road with the band for a national tour where Lovato eventually met the problem. She allegedly clashed with one of the dancers in the production and was involved in a physical altercation with her.

Titled "Sonny with a Secret", this episode will see Sonny returning to her hometown high school for Homecoming. However, someone on set begins to spread rumors that Sonny is a thief, causing her reputation to deteriorate and she is ultimately asked to leave the show.

The song which is used in the episode airing April 11 is titled "Me, Myself and Time". It heavily uses Auto-Tune and has been leaked last week as a new song by Demi Lovato. The lyric goes, "Whatever it takes to be what I was meant to be, I'm going to try/ Cause I'm living the dream and I know it/ I'm trying my best not to blow it, blow it/ And I know everything will be fine/ With me, myself and time."

Season 2 Promo Pics of 'Sonny with a Chance'
January 29, 2010 04:01:07Disney Channel has kicked off its campaign to promote the second season of "Sonny with a Chance". The comedy starring Demi Lovato, Tiffany Thornton, and Sterling Knight among others, will be back on screen this spring and several promo pics featuring the cast together and individually have been released.
The first episode of season 2 is called "Falling for the Falls". Disney has not officially released the synopsis and premiere date but allegedly it will be on February 14 and follow Lovato's Sonny secretly watching "Mackenzie Falls" and saying yes to a date with Chad.
