'Lie to Me' Is Sued Again for Stealing Ideas
January 26, 2011 10:01:34TV bosses behind Tim Roth's crime drama "Lie to Me" are facing a lawsuit over allegations the idea was copied from a pilot episode pitched to Fox network executives back in 2007. The British actor stars as a body language expert who helps criminal investigations by detecting lies in the program, which has run for three seasons since its debut in 2009.
Executives at John Gertz Productions (JGP) claim to have acquired the rights to Roderick Anscombe's 2005 novel "The Interview Room", about a psychiatrist who is an expert in detecting untruths, and turned it into a screenplay for a show called "Lie to Lie" which was offered to Fox in 2007.

'Lie to Me' Not Given Back 9 Yet Not Canceled
December 08, 2010 03:12:19FOX apparently doesn't have a need for "Lie to Me" beyond its initial 13-episode order. Sources have confirmed to several sites that the network has no plan to order the back 9 although it does not mean that the show is canceled.
Starring Tim Roth, the crime drama will be replaced next year by new cop drama called "The Chicago Code" which comes from its former executive producer Shawn Ryan. The third season run of "Lie to Me" will be complete at the end of January. After that, it will stay in the bubble until a decision is made in May.

The Lightman Group investigates the disappearance of a young woman, which leads them to uncover a criminal element in the adult film business. Titled "Darkness and Light", the episode airs Monday, August 30 on FOX as the episode before the finale.

Dave is DR. Gillian Foster's boyfriend whom Lightman tries to track down with the help of Burns' mysterious ex-partner after going missing. Beside Max Martini, the other guest stars include Danai Gurira, Keston John, Edward Hendershott, Darrell Lake, Christopher Stanley and Carmen Argenziano.

'Lie to Me' Brings Back Mekhi Phifer and Jennifer Beals
July 06, 2009 11:07:34Continuing to show confidence, FOX's new series "Lie to Me" will bring back the guests. Mekhi Phifer who appeared in the last two episodes of season 1 will show his face one more time as FBI agent Ben Reynolds. Jennifer Beals, meanwhile, is also back on duty as Assistant U.S. Attorney Zoe Landau.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Phifer is going to be a series regular but Beals in the meantime is still attached to the recurring status. The second season of the crime drama series begins on Monday, September 28 after the sixth season premiere of "House M.D.".
