'Hell on Wheels' Renewed for Fifth and Final Season

"" will return for a fifth and final season. AMC has ordered 14 episodes for the last season which will be split into two parts. The show's farewell will begin in summer 2015, and the remaining seven episodes will air a year later.

"With Season 5 of 'Hell on Wheels', we are proud to bring our trans-continental journey to conclusion for the large, loyal audience that has traveled with Cullen Bohannon and his crew for so many years," AMC president Charlie Collier said in a statement released on Friday, November 7.


Floods Force 'Hell on Wheels' to Stop Production in Canada

Nothing can't fight the weather. Heavy rains have forced "" to stop its production in the middle of shooting the third season's sixth episode as the set in Calgary, Canada, is in danger of being damaged by floods.

The Bow and Highwood rivers, not far from the filming location, have breached their banks. As a precaution, the producers decided on Thursday, June 19 to evacuate the set, with the crew and equipment moved to higher ground, Deadline reports.

Some religious references are inserted in between the violent scenes as Bohannon asks, "What do you suppose the Lord's gonna think about a man like me?" Meanwhile, another man standing outside the bars says, "I pray for you, son."

Less than a month before it airs its first season finale, "" reels in good news for fans. The period drama that gave AMC its second-highest-rated series premiere behind "" will come back for another season as Deadline reported that the network has renewed the series for a second season.
