In the aftermath of Ellen's murder, Neal wrestles with his grief as he feels his chance for answers slip through his fingers. Peter tries his best to get information from the U.S. Marshals in charge of the case, but as he watches Neal's frustration mount he worries about what happened the last time Neal lost a loved one.
At the same time, hoping to rack up an easy win on Peter's first case back at White Collar, the team stakes out a museum targeted by a mysterious thief. It isn't long before they identify their suspect, Abigail Kincaid, who in turn sets her own appreciating eye on Diana. Peter hopes to use their target's romantic interest to their advantage, but when Diana embarks on an undercover date the normally unflappable agent finds herself a little flustered.
Meanwhile, Diana isn't the only member of the White Collar department that Abigail has her eye on. The savvy thief has recognized Neal and she secretly approaches the con man with an interesting bit of quid pro quo: if he will rob the museum for her, she will steal information regarding Ellen's murder from the Marshals. It's an offer that is almost too good to pass up. But as Neal soon learns, Abigail isn't one to take no for an answer, and if he won't do her dirty work willingly she'll find a way to make him...
