The Newport kids plan an end-of-summer trip down to Tijuana, Mexico. Sandy entertains a job offer from a former colleague to help cure his feeling of inadequacy. Kristen, upset that Sandy is considering the new job, finds herself in a compromising position with Jimmy in his new apartment. Marissa learns about her parents' divorce and, once in Mexico, catches Luke with Holly. In trying to cope, Marissa overdoses on painkillers and tequila.
