After the emotional elimination where Mandi was sent home, Ali told the players she had one more surprise for them. She called the Black team over, too, and told them all the players were going home but would return in time for the next weigh-in.

Each player flew back home to a warm homecoming. All their friends and family couldn't believe their transformations since being on the ranch. When Mike and Ron got home, their weight loss brought tears to Ron's other son, Max -- who was now seen as the only obese one the room. Ron promised Max that together they were going to take the weight off.

The players all gathered around their TV sets at home to watch a DVD that was delivered to them. The DVD featured Ali telling the players that they had a challenge to participate in while at home. The players would be training for a half a marathon, a total of 13.1 miles.

Each player was given 13 cookies in a tin and for each cookie consumed, that player got to put five minutes against the time of another player in their half marathon. Keeping in mind that the player with the best time in the half marathon would receive $10,000. This posed a big dilemma to players who could really use the money.

Helen and Aubrey each gave in to the challenge by eating cookies in order to put time against their competitors during the half marathon. When it was time for the race to start, each player had friends and family cheering them on. Mandi even joined her sister for the run. When the players could no longer run, they were pushed to keep walking. After each player finished their run, they described it as the best feeling in the world.

Each player had to face the struggles of being back home and surrounded by temptations. Mike and Ron went out with family and friends and came face to face with giant pizzas that were given to the entire party, on the house by the restaurant. The father and son turned down the pizza and looked at it as a caloric nightmare.

Helen and her husband went grocery shopping at her favorite Polish market to pick up items for meals. She stared at the delicious pastries and after smelling them in their case, she decided to keep walking towards the vegetable aisle. She tearfully told her husband how proud she was for not caving in to her old ways.

Aubrey was able to set some time up with her dad to discuss his own weight and health. Her dad weighed closer to 500 pounds and Aubrey's biggest worry was not having him around to see his grandchildren grow up. She was tired of hearing his excuses because he was taking the talk so lightly. Aubrey told her dad she wanted him back, 100 percent.

The time had come for the players to say goodbye to their families and head back to life on the ranch. Each player had tears in their eyes while packing up their bags at home and hugging and kissing their loved ones moments before having to depart.

The players all returned to the ranch and met up with Ali at the gym. Ali was ready to deliver the results to the players -- their times for their half-marathons. There was a lot at stake because the person with the best time would win $10,000.

Ali revealed that Tara and Sione dominated the racing results, with Tara winning by only a minute. But now, it was time to see if anybody ate a cookie to add time to Tara's results. Helen reluctantly raised her hand and Tara was immediately disappointed. Sione gave Helen a hug because that meant he was the winner of the $10,000.

Bob was concentrating on pushing his Blue team as hard as he could. He noted that since the new teams were formed, the Blue team had yet to win a single weigh-in. Meanwhile, Jillian was bringing the pain to her Black team.

Before the weigh-in could begin, Ali noted that there were five players all on the verge of losing 100 pounds since being on the ranch. If Kristin or Tara reached that mark, they would be the first women in the history of the show to lose that much while living on the ranch.

Sione was frustrated that he only lost four pounds. Jillian wanted to point out that since Sione and Filipe had turned to Bob for help over Jillian, they'd stopped pulling big numbers. Filipe, on the other hand, was happy with losing seven pounds. The Black team lost a total of 34 pounds and a 2.35 total percentage of weight loss.

The Blue team lost the weigh-in and had the painful task of eliminating another one of their teammates. Before the teams were dismissed, Bob told Kristin that her one-pound weight gain was proof she wasn't ready to go home, yet. Meanwhile, Cathy pleaded with her team to eliminate her and let Kristin stay. The Blue team respected Cathy's wishes and she was eliminated.
