Ali has a surprise for the players on the ranch; they are about to see some new faces. Just then, the five players who lost out in their hometown challenges were back to fight for a spot in the game. The five players just need to weigh in first.

Motina, Sandy, Shanna Corey, and Anna all weigh in with hopes of winning back a spot on the ranch. Afterwards, it's Anna who has the highest percentage of weight loss: 39 pounds. Anna starts crying with joy after being welcomed back onto the ranch.

Ali has one more surprise for Anna. She tells Anna that the teams will be going Blue vs. Black and it will be Anna deciding the teams. The other players are just in shock over the sudden twist in the game. Six players per team and the 13th player will have immunity and replace the eliminated player next week.

After Anna decides which players are on which team, she reveals she's given Patrick immunity this week and he'll be free to work out with whichever trainer he wants.

Later on, Jillian asks Anna why she didn't just give herself immunity and Anna says she didn't want to run the risk of not ending up on Jillian's team. Jillian says Anna is making it even harder not to be mean to her.

Jillian tells her team to work out and she'll be with them in a minute; she needs some one-on-one time with Anna. Anna breaks down crying, saying she feels she's failed everybody in her life, including herself and her young son who died of cancer. Jillian tries to get through to Anna and tells her it's time to bring meaning to her son's life and to work on her deep issues.

Patrick and Brendan get some alone time to talk about their next game strategy. The goal is to get Brendan on the Black Team and that means doing their best to eliminate Anna, despite the fact she gave Patrick immunity. Both Patrick and Brendan acknowledge it was a terrible mistake by Anna.

In downtown LA, Ali tells the players they will be racing to different food stations, where they will have to answer a trivia question about food. If they answer the trivia question correctly, they will get directions to the next food station; if they get it wrong, they will have to complete a physical challenge in order to move on. The winning team will receive 40 weeks of The Biggest Loser meal plan and letters from home.

The teams are doing their best to complete the challenge. The Black Team takes an early lead, while the Blue Team is having to perform a fair share of physical challenges. At the end, both teams are tied at the last food station. In the end, the Black Team wins, but four of the players give up their letters from home to Blue Team members.

Bob gets wind of Brendan and Frado's plot to throw the weigh-in and get rid of Anna. He tells Jillian, who says she'll be furious if the guys actually go through with their plan. Bob finds it amusing that this season, Jillian is the one who has the game players instead of him.

Jillian takes Brendan and Frado outside and pleads with them to not throw the weigh-in and try to get rid of Anna. Brendan and Frado offer to talk to the other teammates and convince them that they have no plan to throwing the weigh-in; in fact, they want to win it

At the weigh-In, Frado loses nine pounds, and Jillian realizes he really didn't intend to throw it. But everybody still wants to see how much Brendan lost. Before he gets on the scale, he tells his team he played it straight this week. The scale says otherwise; Brendan loses two pounds.

The Black Team all gathers in the living room to talk about which player to eliminate. Nobody believes Brendan when he says he didn't throw the weigh-in.

The players gather around and vote for whom to eliminate from the ranch. At the end, Rich gets most of the votes and it's his time to leave. Rick tells the players he's not ready to go home, but thanks everyone for helping him be better.
