At a bowling arena, a Christmas tournament is taking place for a major prize. They're interrupted when the Sportsmaster and his minions make their entrance. He places the bowlers in giant bowling pins and prepares to win the trophy using an explosive ball. Batman arrives and deflects the ball. Blue Beetle comes to Batman's aid and the Caped Crusader tells him to go after the minions. Blue Beetle is distracted by his now-talking suit. It inflates to provide him with extra muscles and he knocks them into the normal bowling pins. Meanwhile, Sportsmaster makes a run for it but Batman trips him with a bowling pin. The Blue Beetle invites Batman to Christmas dinner at is home, but Batman has to turn him down, noting that crime doesn't take a holiday.

In a small town, everyone prepares for Christmas and at the local university, archaeology professor John Ulthoon is lecturing his When he hears a truck going out of control outside, he excuses himself and rescues some children in the truck's path as... the Red Tornado. The kids' father thanks him and comments on the Christmas spirit, but Red Tornado admits he doesn't understand because he's a robot.

Later at home, Red Tornado reads up on the Christmas spirit and then starts (over) decorating for the holidays. He's not sure what's missing and goes over to the neighbors to sing Christmas carols... badly. He watches a Christmas movie on television which starts talking about the Christmas spirit, but is interrupted by a group of Neptune alien invaders who arrive to capture Santa Claus. Batman is there and Red Tornado goes to his aid. Batman is busy dealing with the invaders and Red Tornado provides an assist. Batman explains that the invasion is based on an old movie of aliens kidnapping Santa Claus. With Batman providing a distraction, Red Tornado demolishes the saucers, which are revealed as toys. Batman identifies the logo as belonging to the villainous Fun Haus. The villain arrives on the scene and informs them that the games have just begun. He tosses them a baby doll and flies away, and the baby doll's eyes start counting down: it's a bomb.

Red Tornado sends the bomb up into the air where it blows up safely. Batman wonders why Red Tornado cares so much about Fun Haus ruining Christmas. Red Tornado talks about his lack of Christmas spirit and asks if Batman has it. Batman notes that Christmas is overrated and Red Tornado gives him a "World's Greatest Detective" coffee mug as a Christmas present. Batman remembers back to when he received a present from his parents, and deduced exactly what it is. Batman apologizes for not getting Red Tornado a present, but the robot admits it's the giving, not the receiving. However, he still doesn't understand the Christmas spirit.

As the townspeople clean up and redecorate, the children approach a curiously inanimate Santa Claus on a reindeer sled. Batman and Red Tornado fly overhead and spot another Santa making a run for it. They intercept him but he casually knocks them down. Realizing what it is, Batman takes out the robot with an electro-batarang... but an army of similar Santa-robots attack. Other Santa robots terrorize the townsfolk and destroy the Christmas decorations, and the one on the sled attacks the children. The reindeer run out of control and Batman severs one reindeer's reins from the sled, then leaps aboard it and rides it to intercept the sled. Batman takes out the robot Santa but the sled goes off a cliff. Fortunately, Red Tornado has disposed of the other Santa robots and catches them.

The heroes return to town and find a child crying because he can't get a hard-to-get action figure. Batman remembers his parents giving him a toy soldier that belonged to his grandfather, but it isn't the Swashbuckler toy Bruce wanted and he throws it to the ground, breaking it. He runs away as Alfred picks up the broken pieces.

A screen activates on a demolished Santa-robot and Fun Haus tells them he has one more game: he hid a bomb in the town. They search the town but find nothing, and conclude it's a distraction. As Red Tornado hopes they both get what they want, Batman remembers when his parents took him to a Swashbuckler movie. As they went home through an alleyway, they were shot down by a robber. Batman notices Fun Haus' logo on the action figure toys and realizes what the villain is up to.

On Christmas morning, a child opens his action figure present... and the action figures comes to life, steals the family jewels, and runs outside. Other action figures throughout the town activate and steal everything they can. They deliver their stolen goods to Fun Haus, who is waiting outside on a van. The heroes arrive, but Fun Haus orders the action figures to assemble around him into one gigantic battle robot. It attacks the townspeople and the heroes get the innocents out of the way. Next, Fun Haus destroys the water tower with an energy blaster and Red Tornado intercepts him, focusing all of his wind energies. He smashes the battle robot apart but at the cost of cracking apart his own body. Fun Haus falls to the ground and Red Tornado feels a strange sensation... and blows up.

As Fun Haus is taken away, STAR Labs technicians collect all of Red Tornado pieces. Batman wishes Red Tornado a Merry Christmas and summons the Batmobile. On the seat is his grandfather's toy: a gift from Alfred.
