Odelle, Aslam and Luc fly a tiny plane to the idyllic coast of Algeria where Luc maintains a beach house. This marks the last stop before Europe and the final respite before Odelle travels to Barcelona to finally meet the New York Times reporter. The only unresolved issue is Aslam, who lacks family in his native Tessalit, but remains uncertain about accompanying Odelle to the States, despite her insistence. Luc and Odelle disagree about the best path for him, but later, at a celebration on the beach, with an opportunity to relax, the two unlikely companions share a heart-to-heart - and a romantic dance. As Luc continues to pressure her to stay in Algeria (the safest option), Odelle discovers Aslam received an apprenticeship offer in Libya. He intends to leave right away, and Odelle at long last recognizes his choice not to join her in America as his alone.

Back in New York, an exhausted Harrison rails against the police officer assigned to his report following the murder at Kings Point. He demands she investigate Osela and "Ruby" (who's real name is Rikki), but she instead comments on the cuts he sustained from the earlier struggle. After his release, Harrison rushes to Bob's apartment and tasks him with nailing Osela's connection to his father's murder. Bob hacks into a database that could lead to exactly that, except he needs Ruby's encryption key to break into Banks' email - a key Harrison remembers seeing back at Kings Point. He and Bob return to the scene of the crime... where Harrison experiences a series of flashbacks that cloud his memory of Ruby's death. Did police kill her in a blaze of glory, or did he wrestle away her gun and pull the trigger himself?

Joe finally pulls the trigger on a secretive meeting with Peter at a cafe, where Peter learns that Baker set his sights back on Tsaldari and roped in Simons-Wachtel head, Jennifer Wachtel, to mediate the renewed discussion. This spells trouble as it could squash any chance at exposing Societel's misdeeds. To counteract this measure, Peter tracks down Tsaldari and gives her the thumb drive with the stolen data from Societel. Peter understands it could lead to his prosecution but insists she use it to expose the truth. Tsaldari balks - a move like that would not only destroy Peter, it could also destroy Greece.

Back in Algeria at the beach party, Odelle reaffirms her stance to Luc, resolute in her desire to reunite with her husband and daughter in America. Luc responds first with deep frustration... and then with affection. He kisses her, embracing their connection, but they both break away seconds later, and Luc storms off, knowing full well this brief moment of passion will be their last.

Later, both Odelle and Aslam walk separately along the beach, deep in thought about their unknown futures. A new friend of Aslam's begs him to jump into the water with her and enjoy a swim - only she slips and falls. Odelle rushes to her rescue and saves her from drowning, but her heroics lead a pair of tourists to recognize her - and a photo taken on impulse quickly lands on social media. The evidence of her existence spreads quickly and forces her to leave for Barcelona without delay. Luc and Aslam accompany her to a boat, but when she boards and bids an emotional farewell to her friends, Aslam decides to rejoin her, rejecting the job in Libya. Luc waves goodbye and wishes them the best. After all, the journey's not quite over yet...

Across the world, Odelle's photo pops up on phones and news feeds everywhere. Bob, Harrison and Peter all see it as validation of their cause and a reason to keep working to expose Osela and Societel's crimes. Ron and Suzanne, on the verge of losing hope, receive the photo and celebrate the undeniable proof that Odelle lives. But from his office in the Pentagon, Colonel Glen identifies the photo as a serious problem. And based on the intel surrounding the source of the photograph, he books a flight to Spain, a move that places him on a collision course with the one woman who continues to cheat death at every turn.
