'Dollhouse' 2.07 and 2.08 Preview: Alpha Is Back

In two hours on December 11, "Dollhouse" will treat fans with the terror of Alpha. The villain will show up in the second hour when Echo's past romantic engagements are found murdered. Echo suspects that the character played by Alan Tudyk is seeking a revenge.

Meanwhile in the first hour, Echo finds herself out in the world-at-large as she struggles to control her multiple memory downloads after her entanglements with Senator Perrin and the DC Dollhouse. Topher discovers the dangers of science that will have devastating effects on the future, while Adelle engages in a power struggle with Harding (guest star Keith Carradine). The episode is called "Meet Jane Doe" and airs at 8/7c.

'Dollhouse' Canceled, Joss Whedon Reacts

After struggling in the first season and survived, "Dollhouse" can't sustain the life of the second season. FOX has canceled the Joss Whedon-created show but will air all the 13 episodes which have been in the first order. Whedon has come out with a response to the devastating news.

Shortly after report of the cancellation spread out, Whedon wrote on Whedonesque.com, "Hmm. Apparently my news is not news." He went on, "I don't have a lot to say. I'm extremely proud of the people I've worked with: my star, my staff, my cast, my crew. I feel the show is getting better pretty much every week, and I think you'll agree in the coming months. I'm grateful that we got to put it on, and then come back and put it on again."

Preview of 'Dollhouse' Two-Hour Event in December

The October 23 episode of "Dollhouse" would be the last from this month. The series will take a break during November sweeps and be back on December 4 with a two-hour event featuring Summer Glau's cameo.

In "The Public Eye (Part 1)", Echo is sent to stop Senator Daniel Perrin (guest star Alexis Denisof) before he can expose the Dollhouse's secrets. Adelle and Topher travel to the Washington, DC, Dollhouse where they meet its genius programmer, Bennett Halverson (Summer Glau), a woman with a mysterious past connection to Echo.

'Dollhouse' Benched in November

Fresh from the oven news, "Dollhouse" may disappear from the screen next month. In its exclusive report, Michael Ausiello of Entertainment Weekly said that sources are confirming the benching of the Joss Whedon-created show in November.

The series starring Eliza Dushku will be back for December sweeps and FOX will air back-to-back episodes on Friday nights. This looks like a move made only to allow the show to complete the 13-episode order. There is no word yet on what FOX will air in November in replacement of the show.

In the third week of "Dollhouse", one small mistake causes a switch between the imprints of Echo and Victor. Echo is sent on an assignment as a fun-loving, seductive college student and Victor is imprinted as a psychotic killer. However, Echo is being imprinted with a male persona and vice versa.

The spotlight next week will be given to Victor. A Dollhouse shareholder comes to Adelle for a help with a psychotic family member. Adelle suggests that they can imprint Victor with his nephew who is out on a killing spree. Titled "Belle Chose", the episode airs on Friday, October 9.

Gearing up to the season 2 premiere of "Dollhouse", FOX has brought forth a brand new promotional video. Unlike the previous promo that gave a look back at season 1, this thirty-second long sneak peek teases on what to expect from the new season with footage of Eliza Dushku's Echo, Tahmoh Penikett's Paul Ballard, Fran Kranz's Topher Brink and many others.

With the season 2 fast approaching, creator Josh Whedon explained that the unaired "Epitaph One" episode is the guide for the new season. "We talked about whether it was malleable or not, and right now we pretty much take it as gospel," he told Los Angeles Times. "But then we have a lot of different opinions about how it gets there and who does what."

FOX is doing a criss crossing promotion for its upcoming Fall shows including the one for "Dollhouse". In the season 2 promo of the show created by Joss Whedon, the network has tapped Jane Lynch in her "Glee" character to introduce "Dollhouse" and make a little comment about the show.

" 'Dollhouse' stars the beautiful and talented Eliza Dushku and it's about a girl who could be anything you want," Lynch began her introduction. "That's something that I might like to try. To erase my brain and turn myself into Nick Nolte for the weekend. Trust me, that makes sense when it happens."

Summer Glau Is Confirmed for 'Dollhouse'

Summer Glau is indeed bouncing back from "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" cancellation by nabbing a guest starring role on "Dollhouse". The Cameron depicter of the sci-fi series will tackle a different kind of role on "Dollhouse", playing a human instead of a genetically-maneuvered being.

The news about Glau's involvement in the series was first reported by a site called Dollverse which claimed that it had been confirmed by FOX. She will join in the fifth episode, playing a character named Bennett for at least two episodes. Hitfix added an information to this, saying that Bennett is going to work for a Dollhouse.

Three sets of promotional photos from "Dollhouse" season 2 have been released in advance of the September 25 premiere. One set captures main heroine Echo in a brightly-colored room alone while the other puts her in the center of a mist. Pictures of the other characters both together and individually also come out.

Close to being canceled, "Dollhouse" earned a second season order after a revolt by devoted fans. "They're not sprinters," creator Joss Whedon said. "And the fact that this is the studio (FOX) where I did those shows, even when they were not on the network, they know that. It was really basically the hardcore fanbase that tipped the scale. And that scale was tippy."

Clip From 'Dollhouse' Un-aired Episode: 'Epitaph One'

The un-aired 13th episode of "Dollhouse" which creator Joss Whedon described as "spectacular", "special", "very different" and "very funky" is teased through a clip. Called "Epitaph One", the episode has Felicia Day guest starring as a post-apocalyptic character named Mag, 30 years in the future.

"Epitaph One" was produced as an extra episode after FOX scrapped the pilot from being aired because 20th Century Fox the studio has set a deal that the DVD and Blu-Ray will contain 13 episodes. The full streaming of the episode will be available when Fox releases it on July 28.

With 2009 San Diego Comic Con coming around the corner, more and more TV shows are announcing their panels while one is declaring absence. "Dollhouse", which was picked up by FOX despite being an underdog, will take advantage of the event to promote its second season. "Heroes", however, will pass on this event.

Joss Whedon will make his annual appearance at the event, as a rep to his TV series "Dollhouse". Its two-hour panel is scheduled on Friday, July 24, including a screening of the 13th episode "Epitaph One" which was not aired on TV and "a no-holds-barred Q and A about what they have planned for Season 2" by Whedon and star Eliza Dushku.

Confirmed, 'Dollhouse' Renewed for Fall Season

FOX is putting faith in "Dollhouse". Talks were circulating that the network was close to renewing the Joss Whedon-created show, and now it is officially confirmed that "Dollhouse" will be back for a second season with 13 episodes in order.

It will be included in the fall schedule and fill in the same time slot, Fridays. This confirmation was reported in an updated story by THR but FOX is expected to formally announce it on the Monday, May 18 presentation.

Ballard must make a life-changing decision and one Doll is permanently deactivated while another's shocking past is revealed.

In the first clip, Topher reports to Adelle and Boyd that Alpha has taken away Echo and snatched the tracking device off her. The second clip sees Adelle telling Ballard the origin of Alpha and informing the detective that he was once an Active created from a man named Stephen Kepler. The last clip shows Alpha's crazy scheme in converting a woman named Wendy and manipulating Echo.

Although FOX has decided to reserve "Epitaph One" for a non-aired and stand-alone episode, photos from the "Dollhouse" episode have come out. Felicia Day who guest stars in the episode posted on her Twitter account, a link that contains four pics. One of them shows Echo looking rough and dirty beside Ballard.

"Epitaph One" is both a 13th and 14th episode of the series depending on how one sees from the production point of view. Initially FOX the network ordered 13 episodes for the Joss Whedon-created show but they decided to scrap the pilot, which then makes it a total of 12 episodes. The 20th Century Fox the studio however, had made international sales and the DVD deals based on the 13 episodes, thus it has to make an extra episode, which is 13th based on episode and 14th technically.

Preview to the 1.10 episode of "Dollhouse" has just surfaced. The episode titled "Haunted" focuses its plot on the time when Adelle's wealthy friend mysteriously dies. In order to solve the murder, Echo is implanted with the friend's memories and personality.

On the fate of FOX's "Dollhouse" that has been delayed in its production, creator Joss Whedon has blogged to address the issue. In his post on Whedonesque, the Academy Award-nominated writer said that the pilot had to be completely thrown out and some characters were eliminated to make sure that the show heads to the right direction.

'Dollhouse' Takes Timeout to Re-Write Script

After the production on the new season of "24" has been shut down for two weeks, another FOX's series, "Dollhouse", gives its cast and crew unexpected vacation time. Producer Joss Whedon announces that the timeout is required to re-write the scripts for upcoming seasons.

Furthermore, the executives from the television station says that the shutdown is designed as Joss reportedly has not had sufficient time to be in the writer's room after directing two of the first three episodes of the series. In line with the bosses' statement, FOX's spokesman says, "We have tremendous confidence in Joss and his team, and we wholeheartedly supported his desire to take some time to focus on upcoming scripts before resuming filming."
