The third season of "Boardwalk Empire" will premiere on HBO sometime this fall. Bobby Cannavale is cast to join the critically acclaimed series as a rival to Nucky.

Report: Paz de la Huerta Won't Return to 'Boardwalk Empire' Season 3
February 07, 2012 03:02:43Another familiar character may disappear when "Boardwalk Empire" returns for its third season. According to TVLine, HBO has opted not to pick Paz de la Huerta's contract option for the upcoming season, which means that her character Lucy Danziger won't be seen again on the show.
Lucy, who is Nucky's former mistress, has been noticeably missing during the second half of the period drama's season 2. She was last seen giving birth to Van Alden's baby and going on a formula run, but she never returned.

'Boardwalk Empire' Leads ASC Award TV Nominations
December 29, 2011 08:12:27The American Society of Cinematographers (ASC) has announced the TV nominations of its 26th annual Outstanding Achievement Awards. HBO dominates the list with "Boardwalk Empire" scoring two nods in the one-hour episodic television series/pilot category.
The period drama series will compete with British series "Downton Abbey", ABC's newbie "Pan Am" and NBC's procedural drama "Chase" to take home the prize. William Forsythe has been tapped to take a recurring role as Manny Horvitz, a gangster, so The Hollywood Reporter says. Additionally, Charlie Cox is reportedly going to join the cast as an Irish gangster with ties to the IRA.
