'Army Wives' Picks Up More Episodes but Cast Are Weighed Down
November 30, 2011 11:11:35"Army Wives" is here to stay. The veteran drama series has been given a 10-episode order by Lifetime, extending its number of episodes in season 6 from 13 to 23. The series has had 19 episodes in one season before but never went beyond 20.
Lifetime's decision to add episodes into the series, according to Deadline, is based on the fact that their news series "The Protector" and "Against the Wall" did not perform well. In addition, the cable will dodge the complexity of new paperworks because the cast don't have deals beyond the sixth season. The current contract require them to do all episodes produced in a season.

Susan Lucci Lands Multi-Episode Arc on 'Army Wives'
October 21, 2011 01:10:35Susan Lucci has landed her first role post "All My Children". The 64-year-old, who is best known for her portrayal of Erica Kane on the recently canceled daytime drama, has been cast for a multi-episode arc on "Army Wives".
According to TVLine, the former "Dancing with the Stars" contestant will play the wife of a retired general who gives Claudia (Kim Delaney) "valuable advice on how to deal with a potential rival," who is portrayed by Kelli Williams.

'Army Wives' Creates Spin-Off With Gabrielle Union On Board
June 14, 2010 01:06:28Lifetime moves on with its plan to have a spin-off to "Army Wives", casting Gabrielle Union as a lead character. The network will also debut some sort of a backdoor pilot to the original series later this year.
The spin-off which is yet to get a title will center on Brigid Brannagh's Pamela who is now divorced from her Delta Force soldier husband. Upon being single, Pamela takes back her old job as an Atlanta cop and her partner is Union's Detective Gina Holt.
