Muse Set to Receive Nordoff-Robbins Silver Clef Award

Muse

Muse have finally agreed to accept Nordoff-Robbins Silver Clef award for their charity effort although they previously declined the prize in 2009.

British rockers Muse are to accept the 2010 Nordoff-Robbins Silver Clef award - despite turning the prize down in 2009. The "Supermassive Black Hole" hitmakers received a 2009 nomination for the honor, for musicians who raise money for charity, but rejected it, insisting they didn't deserve the title.

But the group has now agreed to take home the award, presented by the charity's music therapy foundation. Frontman Matt Bellamy says, "We are delighted to be presented this year's Nordoff Robbins Silver Clef and join the ranks of such artists as Robert Plant, David Bowie, Pink Floyd, Elton John and The Who."

"Nordoff Robbins is an exceptional charity that has a positive impact on so many people's lives and we are very proud to be recognized by them." Sharon Osbourne will host the prize-giving ceremony in London on July 2.
