Performing with a live band, the Korean girl group makes their Coachella debut with their highly-anticipated set that includes their hits like 'Antifragile', 'Unforgiven' and 'Smart'.

AceShowbiz - K-Pop girl group LE SSERAFIM's agency has broken its silence after the group made their Coachella debut at this year's festival on Saturday, April 13. Source Music under HYBE appeared to downplay the criticism against the group in a statement released on Sunday.

"LE SSERAFIM successfully completed their debut stage at Coachella," the statement read. The company also stressed that "the audience enjoyed the performance with enthusiastic cheers."

The statement came after the "Smart" hitmaker broke the record for being the fastest-invited K-pop group to perform at the prestigious American festival. The group, which performed with a live band, opened their highly-anticipated set with "Good Bones" intro before singing "Unforgiven". The five-piece group, which stunned in black and silver outfits, also offered performances of some of their hits, including "Antifragile", "Eve", "Psyche & The Bluebeard's Wife" and "Perfect Night".

Despite their attractive stage presence, people couldn't help but notice their lack of skills in singing their songs live. Sparking controversy, the group struggled throughout their set due to their weak vocals and shaking voice. Most members, including main vocalist Yunjin, cracked their singing parts.

"Congratulations on making it to Coachella in such a short time, but it was definitely a stage with lacking vocal abilities," one Internet user wrote. "The dance continued non-stop until the middle of the performance, which was acceptable, but from the 'Smart' part of the song, it completely fell apart which was disappointing. HYBE, a large corporation, seems to struggle with overcoming the fundamental issues that come from hastily putting together a team focused on visuals and performance."

"Please practice your singing… weren't you guys embarrassed? Even your own fans were embarrassed," someone else said. Another commenter pointed out, "They aren't even rookie group. They've been idol since almost 3 years. Still their vocals are sounding like melody without tone."

Some fans, meanwhile, jumped to LE SSERAFIM's defense. "this is why i love Coachella... 100 person live, no pre recorded, just the backtracks... idc even if they sounded unstable asf... i appreciate live singing and they are amazing asf," a fan gushed. Echoing the sentiment, another fan added, "yessir. they're trying atleast. korean comments are going crazy. I appreciate them. They've got alot to improve and that's okay."
