AceShowbiz - Renee Zellweger, Hugh Grant and Emma Thompson are returning to the fourth installment of the "Bridget Jones" franchise. According to reports, the three actors are set to reprise their roles in "Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy".

The upcoming movie will also see newcomers Chiwetel Ejiofor ("12 Years a Slave", "Love, Actually") and Leo Woodall ("The White Lotus", "One Day"). Their roles, however, have yet to be revealed.

"Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy" will center on Bridget navigating the challenges of modern life as a mom in her early fifties. Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner and Jo Wallett will produce through Working Title Films. Amelia Granger and Sarah-Jane Wright will executive produce for Working Title Films producing alongside Helen Fielding.

The "Bridget Jones" movies are based on Helen's novels and the character first hit the big screen in 2001 with "Bridget Jones's Diary", which proved to be a huge hit and made over £200 million at the box office. Two sequels have since followed, "Bridget Jones, The Edge of Reason" in 2004 and "Bridget Jones's Baby" in 2016.

Renee expressed hope in 2022 that she would be able to portray the unlucky-in-love character again. Speaking on "The Jess Cagle Show" on SiriusXM, she said, "I hope so. I hope so."

"I mean, it's fun, you know, she's so much fun. I love being in her shoes," the Oscar winner continued. "I mean, it makes me giggle, you know, every day on set the choices that we get to make about just how awkward we can make her circumstances. It's just so much fun."

"Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy" will hit theaters internationally and on Peacock in the U.S. on Valentine’s Day 2025.
