The ex-husband of the former 'Glee' star shares, 'It's been a tough weekend,' as he announces the heartbreaking news that their beloved pet dog Emmy had passed away.

AceShowbiz - On Sunday, April 7, Ryan Dorsey, ex-husband of the late Naya Rivera, shared the heartbreaking news on Instagram that their beloved pet dog, Emmy, had passed away. Dorsey explained that he and their son, Josey, discovered Emmy's body on the bathroom floor beside their other dog, Lucy.
"Her heart beat all it could and she lived a good life," Dorsey wrote on his post. "It's been a tough weekend."
Dorsey fondly remembered the day they acquired Emmy, who was the runt of the litter and named after the prestigious television award. He described her as "the sweetest and most quiet dog," often accompanying him on set and "not giving a s**t" about distractions.
Despite being deaf, Emmy exuded confidence and remained unfazed by other dogs. Dorsey praised her as his "road dog" and "emotional support animal through it all."
Dorsey expressed his gratitude for Emmy's love and companionship, concluding with a poignant message, "Keep mommy company and we'll see you on the other side of the [rainbow]. We [love] you."
Rivera and Dorsey were married from 2014 to 2018, welcoming Josey in 2015. Rivera tragically drowned in July 2020 while swimming with Josey at Lake Piru, California.
Since Rivera's passing, Dorsey has remained a dedicated father to Josey. In September 2022, he surprised their son with a new goldendoodle puppy named Goldie.
