The 'Beverly Hills, 90210' alum has shared details of the altercation that led to her separation from husband and the aftermath of his hasty Instagram announcement.

AceShowbiz - Tori Spelling revealed the explosive details of the fight that led to her divorce from Dean McDermott in the first two episodes of her podcast, "MisSPELLING."

In June 2023 after a photoshoot with Jennie Garth, Spelling and McDermott engaged in a heated argument that turned physical. McDermott uttered an intentionally hurtful remark, prompting a furious Spelling to smash a baked potato on the kitchen floor.

"This guttural scream came out of me," Spelling, 50, recalled. "It wasn't even a sexy scream like running in a horror film. It was beast-like."

Furious, Spelling locked herself in her bedroom, but McDermott broke into the room through another door and in a fit of anger, he declared, "I want a divorce. This is over." Spelling responded calmly, "Okay. Great. Okay."

Moments after the argument, McDermott posted a statement on Instagram announcing their split. Spelling was unaware of the post until her daughter Stella informed her. "Mom, dad just posted on social media that you guys are getting a divorce," the girl told her.

Surprisingly, Spelling felt a sense of relief upon seeing the post. She felt free from the burden of initiating the divorce. However, her daughter confronted her about the public embarrassment it caused the family. Spelling realized her mistake and asked McDermott to take down the post, but he refused.

"She's like, 'Dad, you're not understanding. It's not about that. You guys can get a divorce. You should, but you just put it out there publicly before we've dealt with it. That shouldn't be the case," Spelling remembered her daughter pleading with him. "That was a rough night with the kids."

McDermott eventually deleted the post the next morning, but the damage had been done. The couple continued their lives as if nothing had happened. Spelling and her children moved out of their house due to a mold problem. McDermott checked into rehab for 40 days and later moved into a sober living home.

In March 2024, Spelling filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences. The separation date was listed as June 17, 2023, the night McDermott announced their split on Instagram.

Despite the tumultuous end of their marriage, Spelling expressed her pride in McDermott's recovery from addiction and her hope that it would last for the sake of their children.
