According to their father, Errol Musk, Elon's aloof demeanor sometimes alienated clients, prompting Kimbal to intervene. "Kimbal would scream, 'I speak to clients, not you!' " Errol recounted. Elon, however, maintains he never intended to offend.

The Musk brothers also have a unique bond, having grown up together as "a twosome" under their father's guidance. "I always insisted that your brother and sister is the closest living creature to you," Errol said. "Alienation is totally verboten."
In recent years, Elon and Errol have reconnected after a seven-year estrangement. Despite their differences, Errol acknowledges that Elon inherited his engineering skills from him. However, Elon claims that his father taught him "what not to do."
