The Ellie Reed depicter in 'The Adam Project' opens up about the tough parts in raising her three children, whom she shares with her ex and actor Ben Affleck.

AceShowbiz - Jennifer Garner has shared her experience, including the challenging ones, of being a mother. The actress portraying Ellie Reed in "The Adam Project" opened up about the tough parts in raising her three children, whom she shares with her actor ex Ben Affleck.

In a new interview published on Thursday, March 28, the 51-year-old actress admitted that it's "so hard" to let her kids, 18-year-old Violet, 15-year-old Seraphina and 12-year-old Samuel, make their own decision. She made the confession when speaking to PEOPLE about motherhood.

About her current role as a mother, Jennifer shared, "I'm just watching them in this new phase of life where they're figuring out who they're going to be and what they're going to study." She went on to gush, "And I'm so interested in them. All the time, I'm interested in everything about them."

During the chat, the "13 Going on 30" actress also told the media outlet that Violet, Seraphina and Samuel "are giving her the most joy." The Neutrogena brand ambassador, who is getting ready to celebrate her 52nd birthday, further said, "They're really solid right now."

Elsewhere in the interview, Jennifer reflected on how she was raised by her parents. She shared, "I mean, my parents did too, and I'm so amazed by that. I have a really hard time not saying, 'This is what I see you as,' and 'I think you should.' " She additionally stated, "I really have to sit on my hands."

The interview was launched a few months after Jennifer talked about her firstborn becoming an adult. When making an appearance on "Live with Kelly & Mark" in November 2023, hosts Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos brought up the topic about Jennifer having "an adult in your household."

In response, Jennifer said, "I am. I'm about to have an adult." She continued, "Three days. I'm three days from my eldest turning 18. Can you guys believe that?" before assuring, "It is exciting. I can see the stress, even though the excitement and stress go hand in hand. But she's handling it like a champ and she's totally in charge. I'm not having to say, 'Are you doing this, are you doing this?' She's a self-starter. And I'm just proud of her no matter what."
