The Kylie Cosmetics founder also receives backlash for selling her faux leather trench coat at almost $200 when branding her fashion line 'quality at an accessible price.'

AceShowbiz - Kylie Jenner's newly-announced clothing line Khy is already hit with controversy. After the cosmetics mogul officially introduced her new fashion brand, a designer named Betsy came forward with allegations that Kylie stole her design.

On Wednesday, October 25, Betsy reshared on Instagram Stories a post from @financialtimesfashion regarding Kylie's Khy featuring the reality TV star modeling a long black leather coat. "Dead," the designer wrote in addition to leaving several middle finger emojis in another post.

In the next slide, Betsy revealed her student loan that totaled to more than £50,000. "While I stare @ my student debt. Worked my a** off for this. Like so many other working class kids who bust their a** for expertise they weren't born into to realise their ideas," she wrote.

"We emailed Kylie and all her team @products.ltd concept and language and a line sheet 6 MONTHS AGO," she noted, "INTERESTING CONCEPT KYLIE:.... INTERESTING. Thanks for the co-sign F**k your support." Betsy added, "Trash move from @_namilia_ also."

Fans had mixed responses to the allegations. Some fans showed sympathy for Betsy and blasted Kylie as well as her team for stealing ideas from others. "Are we surprised they're stealing again? When it's not men, it's people's creative properties," one person wrote in an Instagram comment.

"This is horrible!! Ppl laugh and joke but imagine going to school , working hard on something and someone else steals you vision , dream , , they always steal everything sorry , and what's worst is ppl still support, buy , tune in smh so sad," someone else echoed the sentiment.

However, some others blamed Betsy for not being careful with her design. "It's the fact that they're known to steal designs etc and you sent them s**t without a design patent or anything. I feel bad but that's what you get I guess," one pointed out. One other stressed, "Stop sending your ideas to people!! Before you get them on the phone."

That wasn't the only backlash that Kylie received shortly after announcing her fashion brand. Despite its tagline which read, "creativity, collaboration, and quality at an accessible price," fans didn't think it was anything affordable as its faux leather trench coat is retailed at $198.

" 'Affordable lol," one user mocked on X, formerly Twitter. Another person, meanwhile, accused Kylie of copying the dark minimalist style of Mary-Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen's brand The Row. The person said, "If she trying to imitate the Row I don't think it's gonna work. The Olsens actually put the time and effort in to make the brand what it is. The Row is one of the most respected brands in fashion."

One user also believed that Kylie tried to beat Sofia Richie, who is rumored to be gearing up for her own line. "I think I heard Sofia is planning on starting her line that's why Kylie started hers before she does," the user speculated.
