Although the likes of John Boyega and Porscha Coleman have shared positive updates on their co-star, the 'Ray' actor is said to be 'working hard to recover.'

AceShowbiz - Jamie Foxx isn't close to being back on his feet, more than two months after he was hospitalized due to a "medical complication" in Atlanta. The actor is reportedly "still not himself" although his colleagues have recently shared positive updates on his condition.

"He is getting the best care and working hard to recover right now, but he is still not himself," a source tells PEOPLE, noting that those closest to the 55-year-old star remain tight-lipped about his health situation. "He has the tightest circle around him," the source adds.

John Boyega and Porscha Coleman were among those who recently spoke on Jamie's condition. At the Hollywood premiere of his and Jamie's film "They Cloned Tyrone" on Tuesday, June 27, John revealed that his co-star finally picked up the phone.

"He finally picked up the phone. Thank you, bro. He's doing well," said the British actor. "And then, you know, we (are) just giving him the privacy, and we can't wait for his return. I gave him the well-wishes directly. I gave him all the well-wishes. So I'm just gonna be waiting until he comes back out here. So take your time, Jamie. We love you, bro."

Datari Turner, who co-produced "They Cloned Tyrone" with Jamie, also said his friend is recovering and expects to be in front of the cameras again soon. He shared, "He's doing amazing. I promise you. Doing really, really good. (Our director) Juel (Taylor) talked to him yesterday. John Boyega talked to him yesterday. He's in really, really good shape and spirits. And he'll be back on the screen. He'll be back to work very soon."

Meanwhile, on Sunday, Porscha said on the red carpet of the 2023 BET Awards of her "Dad Stop Embarrassing Me!" co-star, "I've talked to people very close to Foxx. [He] is doing well. I hate that the media outlets kept running with the narrative of what was going on without having the proper information."

Noting that Jamie has "always valued his privacy," the actress added, "Once I heard the news, of course, I reached out, but how Foxx is doing it is how Foxx should be doing it. He's resting, he's well. And he's going to be back. Trust and believe."

Jamie was rushed to the hospital in April in the middle of production for his new movie "Back in Action". On May 12, amid conflicting reports about the nature of Jamie's condition, his daughter Corinne Foxx said that her father "has been out of the hospital for weeks, recuperating" and was able to play pickleball.
